We had a nice pre-solstice bon fire and mini jam session tonight. Today I planted a white sage in the garden. It can grow into a small shrub but they are extremely difficult to get going. White sage is a powerful and sacred plant used by the ancient Babylonian, Greek, Chinese, South American tribes and Native American cultures. Julia likes to smudge the house once in a while and it would be nice to grow our own. Did I mention they are tricky to grow? This will be our second attempt… Julia’s blue wheat experiment is going well. The grains are developing nicely. We’ll have enough to sow another patch for the 2nd generation. Julia harvested the blue corn we got from Bobby on Valentine’s day and that turned out nice too. We are drying the 2nd gen garbanzo beans as well. They grew so much better than the 1st run.
