Today I planted a guayabilla aka Eugenia victoriana which is a relative of grumichama (often referred to as Brazil cherries). Guayabilla is a small tree but produces the largest fruits in the Eugenia family and I read that it tastes pretty sour and has an aroma very similar to lilikoi. That means that its great for juicing.
It’s that time of year where our grumichama trees have a lot of fruit on them. We planted five trees about 4 years ago. They are kind of like cherries but less tart and more watery. Since they are relatively short trees and bushy it is great as a hedge.
