Today I planted a Milo tree, a native hardwood with many practical uses. It was long forgotten under a nursery table and it had a pretty rough start so far. The grow bag was all tattered with barely any soil left in it.

I normally chuck these trees into the compost pile but this tree seems to have vitality. Its like it’s saying that it wants to grow.

I planted it in a really windy spot where I’m trying to establish something… We’ll see if this rugged milo tree makes it.

Julia also found a praying mantis egg in the garden.
