Some strong winds last week knocked down our 7 year old mamaki bush. Julia brought home a lemon verbena today so we decided to give it the mamaki’s old spot.
We drink a herb tea every evening and it’s usually some combination of freshly cut basil, lemon grass, jamaican mint, butterfly pea flowers, kaffir lime leaf, lemon balm, mamaki, and more. It’s a great source of minerals and helps with our digestion after a meal.
I’m looking forward to the teas made with lemon verbena as we haven’t had one growing. It should be happy in the sunny spot next to the hapuu, day lilies, bromeliad, galangal and kalo.
