I planted cacao tree #127 today and caged most of the ones that I recently planted. Cacao can be planted very close to each other. You can fit about 1000 cacao trees per acre at 6 feet spacing. We’re doing more like 10 to 13 feet so more like 400 trees per acre to have enough space for other trees and shrubs. We’re working with 2.5 acres so the goal is to have 1000 cacao trees on our farm!
