Today I went on a mission to Kona to find more unusual trees. I visited the tropical fruit master himself, Ken Love at the Hawaii Tropical Fruit Growers nursery. Ken’s got all the cool stuff you won’t find at your local gardening center. At the last plant sale I got salak, orange durian, ooray, tampoi, and araza. Today I found a bunch of trees that I wanted to grow and I’ll be planting them out soon! As I headed home I drove through a torrential downpour on the mauka road. It’s been ages since I saw it rain like that on the Kona side. Got home right before day light was gone and I planted the last seashore mangosteen tree.
