Day 173: Today was the longest day ever but I had so much fun. I cooked and served breakf

Today was the longest day ever but I had so much fun. I cooked and served breakfast, lunch and dinner at an all day birthday celebration for a nice family in the neighborhood. I love plants, I love eating and I love cooking. But I don’t know if I could cook at this scale day after day. This is why I have a lot respect for the back of house.

But man, I love the rush… Time seems to speed up by at least three times when you’re putting together epic meals. You have to make quick decisions and follow your instincts. Follow the lessons learned from every mistake you ever made in the kitchen. That feeling of “did I forget to bring that?'” while getting there is all so strangely familiar.

I love combining the best local ingredients with our home grown ingredients that we know so intimately well. I started at 4 a.m. and got home at 9:30 p.m. and I still feel the high and energized. I’m hoping to channel all of our food passions into chocolate making.

So around 10:30 p.m. I planted a mystery banana that I got from Dash, most likely a rare banana variety via Coconut Chris. It felt nice because the moon was out, Julia helped me shine a flash light, and we had a light drizzle of rain.
