Today I planted an ʻulu tree that we adopted from our friends in Volcano. Breadfruit doesn’t really like it up at high elevations and you can tell that it isn’t too stoked. I decided to plant it in a stand of guinea grass near the breakfast orchard and give it more light as it recovers.
On the weekends we try to cook something with some extra effort. Harvested a bunch of veggies from the garden: parsley, cilantro, green onion, peppers, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, mint, tomatoes, cucamelons, eggplant, peas.
We made lahmacun which is a turkish style meat pizza with Big Island beef and a yogurt dill sauce. Also pan fried the eggplant in a tomato sauce.
