Today I planted another Chuo ume plum right before the sun went down. My grandmother’s garden in Yokohama, Japan had a ume tree, along with roses, water lilies, and a wide variety of plants. She was an avid gardener too and also liked to paint her flowers using watercolors. I remember she always scolded me for not eating my vegetables. Man… It’s been over 15 years since I travelled to Japan. A lot must have changed!
