Our friend Stephen brought over some delicious lychee and longan. First harvest of the season! Today I planted a similar fruit and lesser known tree called Langsat. It’s not in the same family as lychee, longan, or rambutan but it has a similar size and skin. The one I tasted before was sweet and slightly crunchy. There seems to be several varieties that are more sweet or sour and varying amount of latex. I have no clue what kind this seedling is and now I’m thinking I should’ve done a little more homework. I just found out it only takes 12 to 20 years to start producing fruits.
