Today I planted another jackfruit and breadfruit relative, Artocarpus parvus (not hypargyreus) known as kwai muk. This tree is from Ken Love’s nursery. In Southern China where its native to the trees are small, but apparently in Hawaii they can get pretty big. Kwai muk fruits do not look appealing but I read that the inside tastes pleasant and has citrus-like flavor. Also the fruits have to be picked perfectly ripe which is why its unusual to find these at the markets. The tree itself is still relatively new to Hawaii growers so there is not too much info on it for now.
