Today I planted a Guaquica which is a rare relative of jaboticaba from the Atlantic rainforests near Rio de Janeiro. It’s a small tree that produces small yellow fruits that has extraordinary flavor and is very similar to yellow jaboticaba. However, the seeds in the guaquica are much smaller and have a much better flesh to seed ratio. Big MAHALO again to Joe for sharing this unusual fruit tree with us. This one is relatively unknown outside of its native range.
