Today I planted a rare red custard apple tree called Annona spinescens that I got from Joe. It grows wild in northern Brazil and the fruit tastes sweet like a pumpkin and is slightly oily. Not much can be found about this tree online but it doesn’t seem to get that big, it’s maybe more like a tall shrub. The annona section of the food forest is becoming lively. We planted soursop, rollinia, envira caju, cherimoya, reticulata and junglesop.
Its thunder and lightning outside tonight. We’re really happy that the rains are back for the next several days. Perfect for this kind of weather, we opened up a box of Elly Seidl pralines that Julia brought back from Germany. They are a small chocolatier in Munich operating since 1918. One of my favorite chocolates in the world!
