Today I planted another popoulu plantain. Many of the swords I planted earlier this year are producing or have produced its first rack of bananas already. They are producing lots of keiki too.

Yesterday I thinned out several clumps of namwah bananas. This is important maintenance otherwise the rats turn the bananas into hotels. With all the debris, Julia and I started a huge compost pile and most of the banana leaves and trunks will be chopped up and used as mulch for the fruit trees.

The long black handled machete is a special item that used to belong to Kyle. I probably get at least +100 ATK points because of that. Its a very satisfying feeling to slice a thick banana trunk with one swing.

Julia also found a strange banana stump that is producing a flower. We’ve never seen anything like this happen before.
