I thought I outsmarted the weather by predigging a planting hole for today’s tree. I wore my board shorts and slippahs out in the pouring rain and found that the hole was filled with water. I planted the tree anyway.
Today I planted a Mangifera rubropetala, another relative of the Indian mango. A seedling tree Joe shared with me. Like the casturi this is also a mango that’s from Borneo and is extinct in the wild. This will also produce good mangoes on the wet side, so it’s gonna love it here.
