Day 81: Today I planted an Envira cajú tree that I got from Joe Hewitt. There is not muc

Today I planted an Envira cajú tree that I got from Joe. There is not much information online about this fruit except that it’s one of the most tastiest fruits from the Amazon and it’s very new to Hawaii. It’s one of those rare tropical fruits that doesn’t really get sold outside it’s region.

Envira cajú is in the Annona family like soursop, rollinia, and sugar apple. Joe says that in some cases Hawaii can produce superior quality fruits compared to what’s being grown back in Brazil. Maybe because of our unique climate? Either way… this could be the next rollinia and even better! That’s exciting.
