Today I potted/planted a few bromeliads that my friend Karl shared with me. I also found this strange looking pineapple, also a Bromeliaceae.
Not exactly trees, although the three I potted today are called Alcantarea imperialis and they get huge. Like six feet tall and wide like the 2nd photo I found on the internet. The flower spike will be over 9 feet easily.
Most bromeliads don’t produce a fruit like a pineapple does, but make all different kinds of flowers and the variations of colors and patterns come in the thousands. I’ve collected about 80 so far.
