Origin and Habitat
Native to southern Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
What It Looks Like
A fast-growing, smallish, umbrella-shaped tree producing little red cherries packed with tiny seeds.
Uses and Flavor
People say it tastes like cotton candy or sugary cereal, somewhere between those two, which sounds like an exaggeration until you actually try one. The fruit itself isn’t juicy so much as pleasantly crunchy, thanks to all those tiny seeds.
Growing It Here
Got it from Adam. It’s fast growing enough that this could be one of the quicker paybacks in the whole food forest.
